Priority
Responsible Growth and Environmental Protection
Economic growth should improve the lives of the people who already call our communities home.
For too long, development has happened to communities instead of with them. Growth without accountability can increase housing costs, strain infrastructure, consume farmland, and leave taxpayers carrying the burden while corporations receive the benefits.
Devante’s Plan
As Your Representative, I Will Advocate For:
- Protecting Tennessee farmland and preserving our agricultural heritage
- Supporting responsible economic development that creates long-term, high-paying jobs for local residents
- Requiring greater transparency and community engagement before major federally supported infrastructure or industrial projects move forward
- Protecting clean drinking water and natural resources through science-based environmental standards
- Expanding investments in resilient infrastructure, water systems, broadband, and transportation
- Supporting an all-of-the-above American energy strategy that encourages innovation while protecting public health and local communities
- Ensuring communities benefit from major development through workforce training, local hiring, infrastructure improvements, and responsible environmental stewardship
“Growing Tennessee Without Leaving Communities Behind”
Economic development should create economic empowerment. Success should not be measured only by new buildings or corporate investments, but by whether families can afford to stay in their communities, raise their children, build wealth, and pass opportunity to the next generation.
